One-on-One Guided Mindfulness & Inner Wisdom Self-Inquiry

Facilitated by Deb Phelps, a meditation practitioner since 1980, meditation teacher with multiple certifications and additional training in iRest and mindfulness coaching. Deb has been a spiritual teacher for several decades specializing in working with Inner Wisdom.

Sometimes we don’t need advice or another solution. We need a quiet space to slow down, listen inward, and become curious about what is actually present.

An Insight Mindfulness Inner Wisdom Session is a private, relational meditation and self-inquiry experience that invites you to explore your present-moment experience with awareness and compassion.

Drawing on decades of meditation and mindfulness practice, this private session offers a supportive space to slow down, become grounded, and turn inward. Through a guided meditative process, you’ll be invited to notice what is present and create enough inner quiet for your own wisdom to become easier to hear.

Rather than analyzing or trying to change what you are experiencing, I gently guide you in noticing what is arising — perhaps sensations in the body, emotions, thoughts, beliefs, or something that simply wants your attention.

Through grounding, mindful awareness, compassionate inquiry, and quiet reflection, you are given space to listen more deeply to your own experience and inner wisdom.

This is not a counseling or therapy session. I am there not to provide the answers, but to hold a steady, supportive space and offer gentle questions and meditation guidance as your experience unfolds. Rather than analyzing or fixing, you’ll be invited to notice thoughts, emotions, sensations, and inner responses with curiosity and care. Through mindful inquiry, reflection, and gentle guidance, insights may emerge that support greater clarity, self-awareness, and connection to your inner wisdom.

You remain in choice throughout the session and are always welcome to pause, change direction, return to grounding, or simply rest in silence.

Each session is different because we begin with what is present for you in that moment.

This practice may support greater self-awareness, clarity, self-compassion, and a deeper ability to meet your experience with presence rather than immediately reacting to it.

No previous meditation experience is necessary.

Available in-person in Madison and on Zoom.

What Might You Bring to a Session?

You do not need to arrive with a specific problem to solve.

You may come with a question, a feeling, a decision, a transition, a recurring thought or pattern — or simply curiosity about what is present for you right now.

An Insight Mindfulness Session may be especially supportive when you are:

  • feeling uncertain or at a crossroads
  • noticing a recurring thought, emotion, or pattern
  • wanting greater clarity around a situation
  • moving through a transition or period of change
  • wanting to understand your inner experience more deeply
  • seeking greater self-awareness or self-compassion
  • wanting to reconnect with your own inner wisdom
  • interested in a more personal and interactive form of meditation

There is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what you want to explore.

Sometimes the session begins simply with the question:

What is present right now?

What Happens During a Session?

We begin by taking time to settle.

You may be guided into awareness of the body, breath, and the support beneath you, allowing yourself to arrive more fully in the present moment.

From there, we allow the experience to unfold naturally.

I may offer gentle questions such as:

What are you noticing right now?

Where do you experience that in your body?

What seems to want your attention?

What happens when you simply allow this to be here?

What are you believing in this moment?

You are always free to respond in whatever way feels comfortable. There may be moments of speaking, meditation, silence, reflection, or simply noticing.

Nothing needs to be forced.

There is no predetermined answer we are trying to reach.

Toward the end of the session, we take time to reflect on what emerged and notice anything that feels meaningful to carry forward.

A Different Kind of Meditation Experience

Most guided meditation involves listening quietly while someone leads you through a particular practice.

Insight Mindfulness is different.

This is a relational meditation experience. We are both present in the process.

You are listening inward while I am listening deeply with you.

Rather than directing you toward a particular conclusion, I help create the space in which your own experience can become clearer.

If you like, we can connect to your spirit guide, angels, or other Higher Source.

Sometimes simply being heard without being analyzed, corrected, or given advice allows something new to emerge.

In Person or Online

Insight Mindfulness can be experienced either in person at Peaceful Wellness in Madison or online through Zoom.

The process is essentially the same in either setting.

For Zoom sessions, simply choose a comfortable, private place where you can speak freely and remain undisturbed for the duration of your session.

Because this work is centered around mindful presence, inquiry, conversation, and deep listening, it translates very naturally to an online setting.
